Pile refers to the yarn that rises above, while Pile height refers to the height or thickness of the carpet. Pile can be Cut pile, Loop pile or combination of both. Typically, all yarn in the carpet is cut but occasionally this can be left uncut or looped giving a different look of the carpet. Carpet can be woven at any required pile height from 4 to 10 mm depending on knots. Different pile heights can be used in the same carpet to create a more multi-dimensional effect.
